Ed Mayer 1970 Cougar Convertible - A brief history, I purchased this car from a friend of mine for $200.00 and a case of beer, in the spring of 1977. I started the restoration process in 1980 and competed it in the summer of 1992. The motor is a "BOSS" 351 Cleveland. The dash and all interior vinyl wood grain was replaced and custom made with solid black walnut, I reproduced all these parts in my wood shop. There were 2322 of these car's produced in 1970, last I checked there are 21 left that are registered with the National Cougar Club of America.
